Johnson's Pest Control is a family owned and operated business and has been since 1981.
Robert started in the pest control business as a technician in March 1974 for Texas State Pest Control in Bandera Texas. In 1977 Texas State bought Hodges Pest Control of Menard. By this time Robert had become a certified applicator and agreed to move to the Junction area. Robert & Janice along with their two sons, Kevin & Joshua, decided to settle in Junction. The service area included Junction, Sonora, & Menard and quickly grew to include Rocksprings.
The company continued to grow as we increased our service area and Josh and Kevin returned to the company as full time Certified Applicators. In 2006 the office was moved out of the Johnson’s family home to 1922 North Main Street. In the fall of 2012 Janice and Robert began to involve their sons more in the business and are now semi-retired. In July of 2013 the family business chain was complete when the company hired Samantha, Josh's wife to work in the office. The company's service area has now grown to include Kimble, Menard, Sutton, Edwards, McCullough, Mason, Concho, Real, Schleicher, Crockett, Kerr & Bandera counties.
Due to illness the owner of Texas State Pest Control offered each of the technicians a chance to purchase their routes. On August 1, 1981 Johnson's Pest Control was born. The business continued to grow, so Janice obtained her Certified Applicator license and went to work with Robert in the field along with running the office. Kevin and Joshua would work with their dad during the summer and on Saturdays. After high school, both boys got their technician license and started to work full time. They both ventured out to explore other lines of work, but returned to help their parents with the business when needed. In 1991, Kevin's wife, Sharlotte was hired to help with the office duties further expanding the family business.
